The approach we took was to open up the existing dark rear of the house from above, which created a light-filled kitchen heart connecting to the living areas. Clean crisp lines marry with rich timber joinery and detailing to complement the existing material palate of the villa. Upstairs, we updated the bedrooms and bathrooms to be warm and well planned, with an overall modernisation sympathetically acknowledging the house's heritage.
